Box Score WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - #1 FDU defeated #4 LIU by a score of 4-3 in the NEC semfinal tomorrow afternoon. FDU lost the doubles point, but battled back with strong singles play to book their ticket to the championship.
The doubles point was tightly contested and eventually went LIU's way. At no. 1 doubles
Namie Isago and
Yelena Kim fell 5-7. On the no. 2 court
Anastasia Lim and
Alena Kubanova picked up a 6-1 victory.
Valentina Silva and Katsiaryna Kostina fell at no. 3 6-7.
Isago battled back after losing the first set to force a third at no. 1 singles, but dropped her match 0-6, 7-6, 3-6. Lim pulled out a huge win at no. 1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. On the third court Kubanova was stifled in a 5-7, 3-6 defeat. At no. 5 the Knights earned a point thanks to a 6-3, 6-0 victory from Silva. Kostina took care of business with a 6-3, 6-0 win at no. 6.
The match came down to Kim at no. 4 singles. She dropped the first set 7-6 (7-4). However, she kept FDU alive with a 7-5 win in set number two. Kim rode momentum and sealed the match with a 6-3 victory in set three.

FDU advances to tomorrow's
NEC Championship match. The Knights will take on #2 Saint Francis U. The match at Mercer County Tennis Center will not begin before 1 p.m.
