O'Sullivan Has Big Day in Doubleheader Against Wagner

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU softball split a Saturday doubleheader against Wagner at home in Hackensack. The Knights picked up a big win in game one, before dropping the final match-up of the day. FDU moves up to 7-2 in conference, and has won each of its' three conference series so far this season.

Game 1
FDU sent Brooklyn Shroyer out to the circle to start off Saturday's two-game set. Shroyer delivered a gem to continue what has been a stellar 2025 campaign. Shroyer hurled a complete-game, striking out ten batters and allowing just one earned run. Despite Shroyer's stellar outing, the Knights found themselves trailing 2-0 late into the game. In the bottom of the sixth, the Knights offense came alive to flip the script on Wagner. Madison Rishel scored on a throwing error to put FDU on the board. Then, Kailee O'Sullivan laced an RBI single to tie the game at two. Celeste Quezada came up to the plate and gave FDU a 3-2 lead on an RBI single to finish the rally. Shroyer shut the door on Wagner in the seventh to give FDU the win.

Game 2
The final game of the series saw Wagner again jump out to a quick lead. The Seahawks racked up 11 hits off of FDU pitching, and took a lead late into the game. Down 6-4 in the seventh, FDU put together a small rally, highlighted by O'Sullivan. The freshman hit her first career collegiate home run to shorten up the lead, making things a 6-5 game. FDU was unable to plate any further runs however, and dropped the final game by a score of 6-5.
