Women's Tennis Picked Second in NEC Coaches Preseason Poll

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The Northeast Conference released their women's tennis coaches preseason poll earlier today, with the Knights being picked second and receiving one first place vote. Saint Francis received four first place votes to secure the number one spot, while reigning NEC champion LIU fell below the Knights at third. Le Moyne, Binghamton, Wagner and Stonehill rounded out the poll.

The Knights are led by first-year head coach Alex Cole, an FDU alum.

The Burgundy and Blue are coming off an impressive 2024 campaign, where they finished 10-9 on the season and narrowly lost to LIU in the NEC Conference Championship.

The Knights return a key player in senior Namie Isago. Isago is fresh off a historical fall campaign, where she represented the NEC as the sole women's single player in the ITA Conference Masters Championship. Isago defeated Sara Rakim of Florida A&M to move on to the round of 16 before losing to Oyinlomo Quadre of Florida International.

Women's tennis returns to action on February 14, as they travel to St. John's to take on the Red Storm in an afternoon match. They will then head to Delware on February 21 before opening conference play at home against LIU on March 1.
