Women's Basketball Continues Conference Play Against Chicago State and LIU

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (19-3, 9-0) will seek to continue their dominant season when they play a two-game set against Chicago State and LIU.

The Knights are currently a program-record 9-0 in NEC play, and come into the game riding a 12-game win streak.

FDU is coming off of a nice weekend featuring wins over CCSU and Wagner on the road. Teneisia Brown dominated for the Knights over that two-game span. The graduate student dropped back-to-back double doubles, averaging 15.0 PPG and 14.5 RPG during the weekend. Her performance earned her NEC Co-Player of the Week honors.

As the Knights look to carry that momentum over into the new week, they'll have a pair of conference opponents in their way. Things will start off for the Knights on Thursday, February 13, when they travel to Chicago, IL to face Chicago State. The Knights will be hunting for a season sweep over the Cougars, following their first meeting in Hackensack on January 20.

That match-up between FDU and Chicago State was a down-to-the-wire thriller, and the smallest margin of victory for the Knights in their NEC slate this season. FDU emerged victorious 49-43 after a defensive brawl with the Cougars.

Chicago State and FDU will be a fun match-up of star young point guards. FDU's Ava Renninger and CSU's Aiyanna Culver are the top two NEC freshmen in scoring, and the front-runners in what will be a fun Rookie of the Year race. Renninger was able to out-duel Culver in the last meeting, as the Knights' freshman dropped a game-high 15 points in the win.

Tip-off of the Knights match-up vs. Chicago State will be at 6:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on NEC Front Row.

Upon returning from Chicago, the Knights will have a quick turnaround, and face LIU at home on Saturday, Feb 5. It will be the first meeting this season between FDU and LIU.

The Sharks will come to Hackensack sporting a 6-18 record, including a 3-8 start to conference play. In the match-up, the Knights will get their first look at one of the conference's premier players in Sirviva Legions. Legions ranks fourth in the NEC with a scoring average of 14.3 PPG. In the Sharks' last win, Legions hit a dramatic game winner to defeat Wagner in 3OT.

FDU will be celebrating Play 4 Kay in their home match-up against LIU on Saturday. Tip-off will be at 1:00 p.m, with coverage available on NEC Front Row.
