HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (8-4, 0-0) dropped their first contest of the FDU Christmas Classic to Binghamton (8-4, 0-0) on Monday afternoon. The Bearcats emerged victorious in a 62-51 final.
FDU started things off well, jumping out to an early 20-8 lead after the first quarter of action. Kailee McDonald continued her red-hot play in the first quarter, scoring eight points on two threes across the first ten minutes of game action.
The second quarter saw Binghamton come alive, shifting the tides of the game. The Bearcats charged back, out-scoring FDU 22 to seven across the quarter to take a lead into the halftime break. The Knights offense went cold in the second, as FDU hit just one field goal on 14 attempts.
Binghamton came out in the second half looking to build on their 30-27 halftime lead. The Bearcats did just that, holding FDU to just a 23.5% mark from the field in the third quarter and expanding on their lead. Binghamton put things away with a 14-0 run that stretched across the final minutes of the third quarter into the fourth. FDU could not overcome the deficit across the final eight minutes, despite cutting the lead to single digits late.
The loss snaps a home winning streak for FDU that dates back to February 24, 2024.

The Knights will compete in day two of the FDU Christmas Classic on December 30. FDU will face the loser of Penn vs. UMES. Coverage will be available on the YES Network at 4 p.m.
