BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- Tauras Mickus was named the NEC men's tennis Co-Player of the Month.Yelena Kim was named NEC women's Player of the Month, while Sophia Fredericks-McKee was named the Rookie of the Month. This is the second consecutive month that the Knights have taken home both women's Player and Rookie of the Month Awards.
Mickus went 4-1 through the last month, including wins at the ITA Regional Championships, and winning all three singles matches played at the West Point Invitational. Alongside his doubles partner Tze en Gareth Ong, he secured a win in the opening round of Doubles play at the ITA event.
Kim went 3-3 in singles play, with a win in the first round of the main draw at the ITA Regional Masters. She also secured two victories at the West Point Invitational.
Fredericks-McKee won three matches in a row, including an opening round victory at the ITA Regional Championships. Two of the matches came in three tiebreaking sets, as she won hardfought matches on the road.
The three Knights players were also named NEC Prime Performers for the Month. Joining them are fellow monthly Prime Performers Gryffin Minor and Jorge Alonso-Cortes.
