ERIE, Penn.- FDU Men's Soccer topped the Mercyhurst Lakers by a 3-2 count in the team's last road contest of the regular season. The win marks the 10th of the season for the Knights, and their sixth in the NEC schedule.
FDU would get on the board first as
Arnau Rabassa Guillamon scored his eighth goal of the season in the 17th minute, finishing off of a wonderful pass from
Takuto Nishide. The Knights would maintain the 1-0 lead until late in the first half, when the Lakers equalized the match, sending the contest into halftime tied at one.
The Knights would be the first on the scoresheet first in the second half, as
Luke Ayaz put the Knights ahead with a beautiful finish off of a pass from
Nk Tima. That tally was Ayaz's sixth of the season. FDU would find the next goal as well, as Rabassa Guillamon scored another highlight reel goal, to extend the Knights lead to two goals. Rabassa Guillamon's two goals makes nine on the season, which is two clear of the NEC lead.
The Lakers would find another goal late in the match, but the Knights were able to finish off the contest, topping the Lakers by a final score of 3-2.
