Carolina In Their Minds: Duke Awaits FDU Men's Soccer

DURHAM, N.C. – After claiming the 2025 NEC Championship, the FDU Knights (13-4-3) have punched their ticket to the Division I Men's Soccer Championship. In the opening round, the Knights travel to take on the Duke Blue Devils (8-3-6) on Thursday, November 20 at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • FDU is coming off their tenth NEC Championship win, which featured an overtime game winner from Jaime Barbero to beat SFU 1-0.
  • The Knights out-shot SFU 12-0.
  • For just the second time in program history, the Knights will battle the Blue Devils. Duke won the previous matchup 2-0 in 2004. 
  • This is the 20th appearance of the Knights in the NCAA Tournament. 
  • The most recent NCAA tournament appearance for the Knights was in 2022, where they fell 5-2 at Maryland. 
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
  • Duke received an at-large bid to the tournament following an eight-win campaign.
  • The Blue Devils top two scorers, Alessandro Arlotti and Kenan Hot, have each posted seven goals this season, combining for 27 total points. 
  • Duke is led by John Kerr, a member of the Duke Hall of Fame who is in his 18th season at the helm.

The winner of the match will have a date with #3 Princeton the second round of the tournament. That match would be played on Sunday, November 23.
