AUSTIN, TEXAS – FDU (0-3) fell at Texas (2-1) by a score of 93-58 on Wednesday night. It marked the third of four-straight on the road for the Knights.
Cyril Martynov posted a career-high 14 points in just over 22 minutes. He was an efficient 6-9 from the field, including his first three-pointer of the season. The Canadian center also corralled six boards. Martynov has now scored 22 points across the last two games.
Things started well for the Knights at the Moody Center.
Eric Parnell connected on two threes in the first 130 seconds which helped the Knights build a 10-2 lead. The Longhorns responded with a 12-0 run to get the home crown into the game.
The Longhorn lead steadily grew throughout the remainder of the first half. They made 14 trips to the free throw line and scored 22 points in the paint. The Knights struggled from the field as they entered the break down 43-24.
FDU played some of their best basketball of the night after taking a timeout early in the second half. They scored on three of their next four possessions to stop the Longhorn run. Texas outscored FDU 50-34 in the second half.
