Upset! FDU Women's Volleyball Ends SFU's Undefeated Conference Streak

HACKENSACK, N.J. —  The Knights women's volleyball (15-8, 8-2) ends SFU's conference streak (13-7, 8-1) Saturday afternoon (25-20, 25-22, 27-25).

After dropping Friday night's five-set thriller, the Knights came out to defend their home court. Senior Kyie Nott and sophomore Alessia Zampieri were standouts in today's match.

Set 1:

Kylie Nott led the charge for the Knights with 5 kills, getting the team rolling. While the Red Flash turned up the service pressure, the Knights rallied to close out the set 25-20.

Set 2:

The Knights carried their momentum, stepping it up defensively. SFU stayed in close proximity, but their errors proved costly. An attack error by Korrin Burns gave FDU the set 25-22.

Set 3:

FDU held a small lead, but the Red Flash got their offense going late. However, Alessia Zampieri would change the narrative, getting the Knights fired up. Five-set points late, MacKenzy Ruggiero sealed the deal with an ace serve 27-25.
