HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Knights women's volleyball (15-8, 8-2) ends SFU's conference streak (13-7, 8-1) Saturday afternoon (25-20, 25-22, 27-25).
After dropping Friday night's five-set thriller, the Knights came out to defend their home court. Senior Kyie Nott and sophomore Alessia Zampieri were standouts in today's match.
Set 1:
Kylie Nott led the charge for the Knights with 5 kills, getting the team rolling. While the Red Flash turned up the service pressure, the Knights rallied to close out the set 25-20.
Set 2:
The Knights carried their momentum, stepping it up defensively. SFU stayed in close proximity, but their errors proved costly. An attack error by Korrin Burns gave FDU the set 25-22.
Set 3:
FDU held a small lead, but the Red Flash got their offense going late. However, Alessia Zampieri would change the narrative, getting the Knights fired up. Five-set points late, MacKenzy Ruggiero sealed the deal with an ace serve 27-25.
The Stats:
The Knights head to Syracuse on Wednesday to face Le Moyne in a midweek conference matchup at 6 p.m. on October 29.
