Brown Scores 25; Knights Win on the Road at Stonehill

NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Terrence Brown turned in his seventh 25-point game of the season and FDU (8-13, 4-2) took down Stonehill (11-11, 3-4) by a score of 65-54 on Sunday afternoon. The Knights finished the game with an emphatic 26-11 run.

FDU is 4-0 on the road in NEC play this season. Three of these wins have come by double-digits and the Knights have held their opponent to under 60 points in all but one of them.

With this latest performance, Brown's scoring average rises to 21.2 points per game. The conference's leading scorer went 9-16 from the field and knocked down three triples to lead the FDU offense. Brown also secured ten rebounds, which secured his second-career double-double.

Stonehill looked comfortable early on their home floor. They built a 26-15 lead less than 15 minutes into the game. Fortunately, FDU's three-point attempts started to fall. They connected on three tiples and finished the half on a 13-7 run. This helped them cut the Skyhawk lead down to 33-28.

The Knights' defense made its' presence felt in the second half. After making over half of their field goal attempts in the first 20 minutes, FDU held them to just 32% shooting the rest of the way. Most importantly, FDU slowed Stonehill's three-point attack. They made just one three-pointer in the second half.

FDU came out of the locker room and immediately scored six unanswered to grab a 34-33 lead. However, Stonehill punched back and pulled ahead 43-39 with just over 12 minutes to play.

The Knights then took complete control of the game. They erased the deficit three minutes later and did not surrender it the rest of the way. FDU made a habit of getting to the free throw line and converted enough of them to slowly pull away. A late 8-2 gave them their largest lead of 11 and sealed the game.

Stonehill did not score in the final 4:50.

Brown was the only scorer in double-figures, but FDU still got physical efforts from their bigs. Jo'el Emanuel pulled in ten boards and collected four assists. Bismark Nsiah found five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
