NORTH EASTON, MA – FDU women's basketball (15-3, 5-0) looks to keep their dominant season rolling as they hit the road to face Stonehill (8-10, 4-1) on Thursday. Tip-off will come at 7:00 p.m. with coverage available on NEC Front Row.
The Knights will be looking to continue what has been a historic start to the year. FDU's 15-3 record is the best mark to start off a season in program history. The Knights are also riding a red-hot eight game win streak, which they will look to add to in North Easton. The Knights are also undefeated in conference play up until this point.
Through the Knights 5-0 NEC start,
Abaigeal Babore and
Ava Renninger have been the names to watch. Babore has unlocked another level of her game in conference play, leading the Knights with 14.8 PPG through five conference match-ups. She has recorded double-figures in scoring in each conference game, including a career-high 22 points on the road against Mercyhurst.
Renninger has continued to dominate in her first season as a collegiate athlete. On Wednesday, the Yardley, PA native was named the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season. Renninger has been the Knights leading scorer in each of the past two conference games, scoring 17 in a home win against CCSU, and 15 in a home rin over Chicago State.
On the other side of things, the Knights will be facing a Stonehill team who sit right behind FDU in the NEC standings. Stonehill has a record of 4-1 through their five conference games.
The Skyhawks feature one of the biggest threats the Knights will face in the conference slate this season. Senior guard Sharn Hayward leads the team with 16.3 PPG on the season. Hayward is a three-time NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Player of the Week, and is currently the number two scorer in the conference.
The Knights and Skyhawks will face off for just the fifth time ever. FDU currently leads the all-time series 3-1.
