Left His Mark: Three-Time NEC Champion Jeff Brandes Moves on from Knights Tennis

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU announced on Wednesday that Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Jeff Brandes will be leaving the program for other opportunities. Brandes took over at FDU in 2016 and has spent the last eight seasons leading both the men's and women's tennis programs.

FDU tennis experienced plenty of success under Brandes. He led the men's side to two NEC Championships in 2021 and 2022 and made appearances in the NCAA tournament in both of those years. In 2016, he guided the women to the NEC Championship and secured a spot in that year's NCAA tournament. Additionally, the women made four other appearances in the NEC Championship match.

Individually, Brandes' student-athletes excelled. Overall, his players won four NEC Player of the Year awards and four NEC Rookie of the Year awards. He coached a total of 34 All-NEC Singles selections and 19 of his doubles teams earned All-NEC recognition.

Off the court, the Knights found even more success with Brandes at the helm. The women's team has won the ITA Northeast Region Community Service Award for three consecutive years. The men recently claimed the same award for the first time in 2024. His players have earned countless CSC All-District Academic Honors and NEC Honor Roll selections.

FDU thanks Coach Brandes for his dedication to Knights tennis.
