BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- Brookyln Shroyer earns NEC Rookie of The Week for the fifth time.
Shroyer had an outstanding final two appearances of the season on the mound for the Knights.
In game one against Wagner on 5/3, Shroyer pitched a complete game without allowing a single run. She recorded 11 strikeouts, allowed three hits and issued one walk en route to a 1-0 victory for FDU.
Brooklyn had another amazing performance in FDU's final game of the season against Wagner on 5/4. She recorded seven strikeouts, allowed one hit, and issued one walk while only allowing two base runners for Wagner throughout the game for her fifth complete game shutout of the season. FDU won the game by a score of 1-0 to end the season on a six-game winning streak.
Shroyer concludes her season with an impressive tally of 251 strikeouts, setting a new single-season record for FDU. Additionally, she notched 22 complete games, another FDU single-season record. Brooklyn finishes the year with an overall ERA of 1.78 and a 2.00 ERA in NEC play with a 17-12 record. Brooklyn's remarkable performances throughout the year undoubtedly rank among the best single season pitching displays in FDU history.
With 251 strikeouts, she now leads the nation at this point in the season.
