HACKENSACK, N.J.- In a challenging matchup against St. Francis U, the FDU softball team fell in game three of the three-game series.
St. Francis took an early lead as Ulam's single up the middle brought Walters home, giving the Red Flash an early 1-0 advantage.
FDU responded, with Flores hitting a single to right field, but they couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
St. Francis extended their lead with a home run by Marsden, resulting in a 4-0 lead for St. Francis.
FDU struggled to get on base, with no runs scored in the second inning.
In the third inning, Freshman Brooklyn Shroyer recorded her 200th strikeout of the season. Shroyer currently ranks second in the nation for total strikeouts. St. Francis continued their strong offensive display, adding another run with a homer by Hernandez.
Despite a double by Berg, FDU couldn't convert it into runs.
St. Francis further widened the gap, scoring six runs with notable contributions from Walters and Nash.
FDU faced difficulties once again, failing to score any runs.
FDU couldn't produce any runs, leaving the score at 11-0 in favor of St. Francis as the game ended in the fifth inning.
The Knights are scheduled to play a doubleheader against St. John's on April 23rd, at home slated for a 1 P.M. start.
