HACKENSACK, N.J.- Saint Francis took the first two games of the three-game series against FDU.
The Knights and the Red Flash found themselves in an intense pitching duel with Brooklyn Shroyer on the mound for FDU and Grace Vesco on the mound for Saint Francis.
Brooklyn Shroyer only allowed five hits throughout the game while striking out nine batters.
It was Grace Vesco who came out on top in the pitching duel while only allowing one hit, which came in the seventh inning. Vesco also struck out 12 batters en route to her 14th win of the season.
The pivotal moment came in the seventh inning when Savannah Nash hit a three-run homer to break the deadlock for the Red Flash.
The Knights could not produce any runs as they fell by a score of 3-0.
Saint Francis started the game off hot and scored 10 runs in the first three innings.
They continued to add insurance runs as they scored another four runs in the fifth to make it a 14-run ballgame.
The Knights found no success against Rachel Marsden as she was one out away from a perfect game but ended up walking Riley Cunningham in the fifth inning with two outs.
Marsden completed her no hitter in the next at bat as Zoe Valdez grounded out to the shortstop who made a suburb play to secure the no hitter for her pitcher.
The game ended with the Red Flash winning 14-0.
The Knights take on Saint Francis tomorrow, April 21st in a single game scheduled for 12 PM.
