FAIRFAX, Va. - FDU Men's Volleyball (6-9, 0-3) took the first set off George Mason (9-7, 3-2) 25-23 but would eventually fall in four sets. This was the second match of the home-and-home series of the season.
The Knights opened the match hitting a stellar .387Â in the first set while the Patriots were held to a .287. However, the match flipped as George Mason rattled off three sets of hitting over .400 and holding FDU below their opening set mark.Â
The second set was tied at 16 before the Patriots went on a 9-4 run to close the set. The third set got away from FDU following a service error at 6-7 which triggered a 9-3 run by the home team. The fourth set was a similar story, with the Patriots rattling off a five-point run early and then and then a seven-point run to open a 23-11 lead and eventually close out to the match.Â
Jamal Ellis Carballo led the FDU attack with 13 kills.
Jose Angarita returned to the starting lineup and dished out 38 assists.Â

FDU returns to the Bogota Savings Bank Center to take on in-state opponent Princeton at 5pm on Friday, March 15. Fans can tune into NEC Front Row if you can't make it to the match.
