Taking part in its 35th NEC tournament, FDU heads back to Syracuse where the Knights etched the team's first-ever win against the Dolphins to even the season series at one game a piece with the teams winning on the other's home court.

A charter member of the NEC now in its 43rd season, FDU is 36-28 all-time in the league's postseason. This is Le Moyne's first year in Division I and the first time the NEC will allow reclassifying institutions to participate in the conference championship as the previous policy only allowed those in years three and four of the transition to do so.

FDU is 18-12 all-time in opening round/quarterfinal games.

Both teams ended the regular season 3-2 in their final five outings and the sides each boast a First Team All-NEC honoree with FDU's Ansley Almonor earning the plaudit, along with Le Moyne's Kaiyem Cleary.

En route to last season's historic upset of #1 Purdue in the 2023 NCAA tournament, FDU defeated St. Francis Brooklyn in the NEC quarterfinal, followed by a home win over Saint Francis U to secure the NEC's automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NCAA Championship as the Knights' opponent in the final, Merrimack, was ineligible for March Madness at the time. FDU fell to the Warriors in the final.

Central Connecticut and Merrimack split the regular season crown with the Blue Devils as the top seed in the league and Merrimack in second. Sacred Heart finished third, followed by Le Moyne, FDU, Wagner, LIU and Saint Francis U in the final seed. The NEC tournament bracket will reseed after Wednesday's quarterfinal with the highest remaining seed facing the lowest remaining seed and the second highest/lowest playing each other on Saturday, March 9 at either 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. ET. The NEC title game will air nationally on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
