Hampton, Va.- Knights start off five game weekend in Virginia with two losses against Hampton and Marist.

This matchup started with an intense pitching duel, with both teams locked in a stalemate for the first three innings. Shroyer, leading the Knights on the mound, showcased her dominance with four strikeouts and just one hit allowed during this period. 

In the fourth inning, Hampton broke the deadlock, scoring a run with an RBI single from Williams. 

FDU quickly responded in the bottom of the fourth, sparked by Megan Berg's hustle on the bases. After Berg reached base with a single and stole second, Celeste Quezada capitalized on the opportunity, driving in Berg with a groundout to second. Berg's aggressive baserunning forced an error, allowing her to score from second on the play. 

However, Hampton regained the lead in the fifth inning, scoring two runs to pull ahead. 

The Knights mounted a late-game rally in the seventh inning, loading the bases with no outs and a chance to tie or take the lead. Despite the promising opportunity, FDU could only muster one run, ultimately falling short and losing the game 3-2. 

Game two against Marist didn't go as planned as the Knights found themselves in an early 4-0 deficit in the first inning.  

Marist maintained their momentum, adding nine runs in the next four innings, extending their lead to 13-0. 

FDU struggled to get things going at the plate as they could only record two hits during the game.  

The Knights fall to 4-6 after losing the first two games of the weekend.  
 

The Knights will take on Holy Cross in a single game scheduled for 2:30 PM, Saturday, in Norfolk, Va.
