Women's Tennis Welcomes Ann Kato to 2024-25 Roster

HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU women's tennis welcome Ann Kato, a new addition to the fall 2024-25 season. Ann hails from Aliso Viejo, California, where she attended Aliso Niguel high school. Her honors include MVP of her high school tennis team twice and a 3-star rating by Tennisrecruiting.net 
 
The tennis academies that Ann has trained at include Veylix Tennis Academy in Tustin and California and Brymer Lewis Tennis Academy in Irvine, California. Ann is currently ranked number 41 in the state of California and has an International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Number (WTN) of 23.7 in singles and 26.8 in doubles.   
 
Ann was the Pacific Coast League doubles champion for 2 consecutive years. In 2023, she won the D1 Southern California Team CIF championship and was the Southern California Individual CIF best of 16.  
 
Ann has also had success playing United States Tennis Association (USTA) tournaments in both singles and doubles. She was a doubles semifinalist at the USTA L5 Lakewood tournament and doubles champion of the USTA L5 tournaments at both the Fountain Valley Tennis tournament and the Anaheim Tennis Center tournament. In singles, Ann was a semifinalist at the USTA L4 WAC Junior Fall Open at Westlake Village and a finalist at the USTA L4 MPTA Santa Ana tournament.
 
Ann plans to pursue a degree in psychology at FDU.
