LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (6-2, 0-0) hits the road to face in-state rival Rider (1-6, 0-0) on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off will be at 2:00 p.m, with coverage available on ESPN+ for those not in attendance.
FDU enters the matchup riding a two-game win streak, following their latest road victory over Lafayette on Wednesday, December 4. The Knights took down Lafayette in a thrilling 69-62 victory, which came down to some clutch fourth-quarter buckets.
Star freshman
Ava Renninger has led the way for FDU this season. In the Knights' last affair against Lafayette, Renninger led the way with 19 points; 17 of those 19 came in the second half. Renninger currently leads FDU in scoring with a 15.4 PPG mark. She ranks 13th in the nation amongst all freshmen in scoring.
FDU has also been getting strong performances out of graduate student
Teneisia Brown. She helped seal the win over Lafayette with a three-point play late in the fourth quarter. Her clutch play capped off a 15 point, 11 rebound night for the veteran leader, her second double-double of the season.
Brown and Renninger have been stars so far this season for FDU, each taking home an NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Player of the Week award during the first several weeks. With each having strong performances against Lafayette, they remain two leading contenders to pick up the honor for this week with a good showing against Rider.
The Knights will look to improve to 2-0 against New Jersey rivals this season, already with a win over Saint Peter's on the season.
