EASTON, PA – FDU women's basketball (5-2, 0-0) heads on the road to face the Lafayette Leopards (2-5, 0-0) on Wednesday night. Coverage will be available on ESPN+ with tip-off coming at 6:00 p.m.
The Knights get back into game action following a 10-day break. FDU last saw the court back on Wednesday, November 23, when they defeated Saint Peter's by a score of 67-50 in Hackensack.
After getting off to a 5-2 start, the Knights have been one of the more entertaining Northeast Conference and mid-major programs in the nation. A big reason for the Knights' hot start has been the stellar play of freshman Ava Renninger.
The Yardley, PA native leads FDU with 14.9 PPG, and is currently 12th in the nation amongst all Division 1 freshmen in scoring. Renninger has been a three-time NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Rookie of the Week Award winner. Renninger also was awarded an NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Player of the Week honor following FDU's latest game action against No. 2 UConn and Saint Peter's.
FDU hits the road to face a 2-5 Lafayette team. The Leopards have been well-tested to start the year, facing three high-major opponents so far, with two of them being ranked (No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 13 West Virginia). The Leopards are led by a high-scoring guard pairing of Abby Antognoli and Kay Donahue. The two New Jersey natives each average 12.7 PPG to lead Lafayette.
