HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (7-3, 0-0) looks to continue their strong season to date with a Thursday afternoon bout against Saint Michael's (4-5, 1-4). The Knights look to rebound from an 83-58 loss in their last time out against Rutgers on December 11. 

The Knights head into the game riding a number of impressive statistics to being the season. FDU has yet to lose a game at home, with a 3-0 record on the season in the Bogota Savings Bank Center. The Knights have also only lost to high major programs, with a 7-0 record against non-power conference schools.

Freshman guard Ava Renninger has been one of the big stories to follow for the Knights this year. In just her first season as a collegiate athlete, she leads the team with 14.0 PPG. Renninger has already been a four-time NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Rookie of the Week, and even took home a Player of the Week honor earlier in the year. 

Saint Michael's comes to down playing up a division. The Purple Knights, hailing from NCAA D2's NE-10 conference, have begun their 2024-25 campaign with a 4-5 record. FDU will be the second Division I opponent to face Saint Michael's this season, as the Purple Knights fell to Vermont in their season opener on October 29.

The Purple Knights are led by senior guard Brianna Furch, who averages a team-high 13.9 PPG.

COMING SOON

The match-up against Saint Michael's will be the last before a holiday break for FDU. The Knights will be back in action in back-to-back days on December 28 and 29th, when they host the FDU Christmas Classic to round out the 2024 calendar year.
