EASTON, Mass. – The FDU Knights fell to the Stonehill Skyhawks by a score of 60-56. Despite a strong first half showing, this loss drops the Knights to 3-13 and 1-2 in conference play.
NOTABLE NAMES
- Staci Williams continued the momentum from her last performance with a contribution of 15 points.
- Bella Toomey was able to collect a career-high of 12 points and went 6-10 from the field for the Knights.
- Abaigeal Babore was able to produce on both sides of the ball with ten points scored, eight rebounds off the glass and three steals.
QUARTER 1
- Despite a slow start, the Knights were able to close in on the Skyhawks lead with a 11-4 point run.
- Stonehill closed the first quarter leading 17-15.
QUARTER 2
- Abby Conklin was able to down two triples to give the Knights their first lead of the game 21-20.
- Balanced scoring by FDU led to a 12-8 point run with contributions from Teneisia Brown, Wilma Sorensen, Williams, Conklin and Toomey.
- The Knights were able to outscore the Skyhawks 18-11 leading the Burgundy and Blue to close out the first half ahead 33-28.
- FDU shot 8-17 (47.1%) from the field.
QUARTER 3
- Stonehill knocked down two free throws to begin the third.
- With back-and-forth scoring, Toomey powered through the quarter as she totaled eight points for the Knights.
- The Knights led going into the fourth quarter 47-38.
QUARTER 4
- With the Skyhawks making quick work up and down the court as they went on a 16-7 point run, they were able to knot the game at 54-54 with two minutes remaining in the game.
- Ultimately, Stonehill was able to close out the game with a 60-56 win.
