FDU's King Reigns Again as Back-to-Back NEC Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU graduate student goalkeeper Spencer King stayed atop the Northeast Conference goalkeeping thrown this week as the fifth-year Knight earned his second-straight NEC Player of the Week honor.

King recorded five saves in his fourth shutout of the campaign when FDU welcomed Lafayette on September 12. Facing 18 Leopard shots, the Ottawa, Ontario, Canada product was rock solid, lifting FDU to their third victory of the young season after his 41st career start at FDU.

In the conference, King leads all NEC goalkeepers in goals against average (.667), saves (32) and shutouts per game (.667/four shutouts) and nationally ranks third in shutouts among all Division I goalkeepers. King is also fifth in the nation in save percentage (.889).

Joining King in earning league plaudits is senior midfielder Eric Dlabal who booted the game-winning goal after coming on as a substitute, his second score of the season, in the 74th minute of play. Dlabal leads all Knights scorers with two goals in six appearances. Both student-athletes (King and Dlabal) were named NEC Prime Performers.

Dlabal, King and the Knights return to action tonight, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. against No. 17 Pitt live on ACC Network Extra.
