BROOKLYN, N.Y.- LIU handed the FDU men's volleyball team their 5
th straight loss on Friday night. The straight set win marked LIU's first ever Northeast Conference victory.

Hitting at an impressive .514 clip, LIU's attack gave the Knights trouble from the opening serve. The Knights' offense did their best to keep pace in the first set with 10 kills of their own, but LIU kept their distance throughout and won the set 25-19.
The Sharks swarmed out to a 3-0 lead in the second set and never looked back. The Knights burned two timeouts early but were unsuccessful in their comeback venture. LIU would coast to a 25-14 win.
FDU was able to keep things tight in the initial stages of the third set. However, when they were already holding an 11-9 lead, LIU utilized a 6-2 run to take the air out of the FDU attack. Despite a late Knight surge, LIU closed out the match with a 25-21 victory in the third.
Rui Fernandes had another strong night calling the shots for FDU's offense as he finished with 27 assists. Continuing his impressive freshman campaign,
Dylan McFadden was able to find holes in the LIU defense with eight kills. Him and
Jack Lydon led the team in this category.
