HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights (18-5, 10-1) will take on Sacred Heart (12-11, 9-2) Thursday evening at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center. This conference battle will take place at 7 p.m. and Knights fans can watch the game on NEC Front Row.
The Knights came out of the gates blazing with a 22-0 run to start the game and eventually headed into the second quarter with a 26-2 lead. This was the second time this season that the Knights held an opponent to just two points in the first 10 minutes of play; the first was on ESPN 3 versus Saint Francis Brooklyn. Junior
Chloe Wilson led the Knights with a dominating performance; she picked up 32 points and seven rebounds on a highly efficient 11-for-18 shooting from the field. Dahomée Forgues had an efficient night knocking down 6-of-10 shots for 13 points and four rebounds. The Knights had contributions all throughout the lineup with
Miranda Elebring and
Ella Fajardo pitching in 15 combined points in the blowout win.
Angelika Szumilo's squad dominated the glass, outrebounding the Blue Devils 37-to-26. The defense held CCSU to a lowly 34.5% shooting from the field which included just 7.7% in the first quarter on 1-of-13 shooting.
- Wilson leads the Knights with 16.2 points a night and 6.5 rebounds. She has picked up four double-doubles on the season and is coming off a 32-point caeer-high outing last time out
- Senior DeAngelo has had a solid season scoring 11.6 points a night on a team-leading 46.4% shooting from the field
- Forgues has entered double-digit point scoring on the season averaging 10.2 points a contest
- SHU is 12-11 on the season and has been dominant in conference play with nine wins
- Freshman guard, Ny'Ceara Pryor is a player to watch for the Pioneers. She is scoring 17.9 points a night on 45.5% shooting from the field
