Knights Head to Maryland for Saturday Match-Up

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU opens a two-game road trip on Saturday against Maryland Eastern Shore at 2 p.m. The Knights are aiming for their second-straight victory and can improve their record to 3-7 with a win at Hytche Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
Thanks to an impressive shooting performance, which included 13 triples, the Knights defeated Bloomfield by a score of 86-38 on Wednesday. FDU set the tone immediately on the defensive side of the ball as they held the Bears to just four first-quarter points. The Knights shot 34-for-72 (47.2%) from the floor and crashed the glass for 52 rebounds. FDU's 43 bench points were another major factor in the win. In the fourth quarter, Jada Elston exploded for ten points in her debut at Stratis Arena. 
 
CONNECTING WITH CARTER
Nickie Carter is heating up from deep. Carter made just seven threes in the first seven games of the season. In the last two games, the guard has dialed in and downed seven more from beyond the arc. She is 7-14 (50%) from deep and averaging 11.5 points per game over this span. 
 
BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Maryland Eastern Shore sits at a respectable 4-5 on the year. In their last contest Maryland Eastern Shore fell to East Carolina by a score of 72-57. The Hawks average 63.1 points per game and allow 66.6. 

SCOUT'S CORNER
The Knights will be keyed in on the Hawks' Zamara Haynes and Ariana Seawell. Zamara leads the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game. Seawell does the work underneath the basket averaging 7.4 boards per game. 
 
PACING THE SIDELINES
Head coach Fred Batchelor is in his 18th season as coach of the Hawks. Batchelor's 195 wins are the most in Maryland Eastern Shore's history. 

MATCH-UP HISTORY
The Knights and Hawks have split the only two battles in this series. Last year, FDU took down the Hawks in Hackensack by a score of 82-41.
