Knights Battle with Commodores in Friday Night Match-Up

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU hits the road for a battle at Vanderbilt on December 29th starting at 6:30 p.m. CT/7:30 p.m. ET. This marks the Knights' final tune-up before NEC play commences when the calendar flips to 2024.

LAST TIME OUT
The Knights last saw the court on Thursday at home against UNLV as they fell to the Lady Rebels 71-59. FDU kept the game tight as they trailed UNLV by two after one quarter. The Lady Rebels began to pull away and built an 18-point lead going into the fourth. The Knights put together an impressive fourth quarter outscoring UNLV by six but ultimately fell to the Lady Rebels 71-59. The Knights shot 21-for-59 (35.6%) from the field. FDU was able to collect 34 boards as Abby Conklin accounted for ten. Teneisia Brown led the Knights with 15 points scored.
 
TENEISIA TIME
Brown has scored in double-digits eight times for the Knights so far this season out of the 12 games played. The senior center/forward averages 10.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. She has recorded two double-doubles against Mount St. Mary's (Md.) and NJIT and added 15 points and seven boards against UNLV.
 
CATCHING CONKLIN
Abby Conklin is playing an intricate role in the team dynamic for the Knights this year. The senior guard has scored in double digits for the Knights seven times and just recorded her season high in rebounds with ten against UNLV. Conklin averages 9.4 points per game and is shooting 29-for-74 (39.2%) from beyond the arc.
 
BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Vanderbilt sits with an impressive 11-1 record on the year. In their last contest, Vanderbilt came away victorious over Dayton by a score of 70-53. The Commodores average just over 72 points per game and only allow 58. 

SCOUT'S CORNER
The Knights will be keyed in on the Commodores' Jordyn Cambridge and Sacha Washington. Cambridge leads Vanderbilt as she averages 15.2 points per game and is contributing an average of 8.4 rebounds per game. Washington is a threat for the Commodores as she averages 14.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
 
PACING THE SIDELINES
Head coach Shea Ralph is in her 3rd season as coach of the Commodores. 

MATCH-UP HISTORY
This game marks the first time in history the FDU Knights and Vanderbilt Commodores will face each other.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
FDU is back in action on Saturday January 6th on the road to take on Le Moyne in their first conference game of the season. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip-off at Ted Grant Court in Syracuse, N.Y.
