TEANECK, N.J. -In the second game of the series, the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (13-17, 6-2 NEC) secured a 6-4 win over Bryant (11-16, 3-5 NEC) on Saturday afternoon.
How it happened
- Bryant opened the scoring with two runs in the second and one in the third.
- The Knights tied the game in the third inning with three runs. Justin Sierra and William Pope scored off a 2-RBI single to center field by George Rosales, and then with a Hunter D'Amato's RBI single to center, Rosales added another run.
- The Bulldogs regained the lead in the top of the fourth after scoring a run on a fielder's choice.
- Justin Sierra blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game 4-4.
- The Knights broke the tie in the sixth with a two-run double by Sierra, making the final score 6-4.
Inside the box
- Ethan Rembish earned the win by going 3.0 innings, striking out six, and not allowing any runs. Michael DiMartino took the save after striking out one in the last inning of play.
- Sosa went 3-4 with three RBI, a double, two runs, and a stolen base.
- D'Amato finished 2-4, registering one RBI, a double, and a stolen base.
- Rosales went 2-4 with two RBI, a stolen base, and two runs.
Game notes
- This is the first time FDU has taken series from Bryant since the two started competing in 2010.
- Bryant has lost four consecutive conference games and for the first time in history they dropped back-to-back NEC series.
