TEANECK, N.J. -The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (11-17, 4-2 NEC) defeated the Iona Gaels (0-24, 0-6 MAAC) 5-2 in a midweek game at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.
How it happened
- The Iona Gaels opened the scoring in the first inning with a run on a SAC fly.
- The Knights responded with a run in the bottom of the second as Tom Ruscitti scored on a double play.
- FDU took the lead in the third after Tommy Verga hit an RBI single to the second baseman, allowing Joan Sosa to advance to third and bringing George Rosales in to make the score 2-1.
- Iona tied the game with a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth inning.
- The Burgundy in Blue regained the lead in the bottom of the six with a 2-RBI double by Hunter D'Amato. TJ Werner scored the last run on a Justin Sierra SAC fly to center field, making the final score 5-2.

- Michael DiMartino earned the win by going two innings and striking out three.
- D'Amato went 2-5 with 2 RBI.
- Devin Pelletier finished 2-4 and registered one run and two stolen bases.
- George Rosales went 1-2 with a run and a stolen base.
