Taking both games from the Peacocks on March 31 at FDU Softball Field, the Knights are 16-0 against Saint Peter's dating to the 2012 season. FDU held the Peacocks to just six runs combined between the two games, allowing just a trio of Saint Peter's baserunners to score on the banks of the Hackensack. In game two of the doubleheader the first time around, FDU set a new season-high for doubles with four coming off Knights' bats as two-time NEC Player of the Week
Cassidy Triska,
Sydney Newton and former NEC Rookie of the Week
Andreya Flores hit for extra bases. Flores hit a pair of doubles in the nightcap.
"I'm looking forward to another competitive series against an in-state rival who we played a few weeks ago," remarked head coach
Chris Foye. "It will be a great tune-up as we near the finish line of our conference schedule battling for a playoff spot."
Since taking on the MAAC member Peacocks to close-out March, FDU is 6-8 with all six victories coming in NEC play.
After facing the Peacocks for the final time in the regular season, the Burgundy and Blue turn their attention back to NEC play as the Knights hit their home diamond one last time in the 2022 campaign for a three-game series against LIU beginning with Senior Day on Saturday, April 30 live on NEC Front Row.
