TEANECK, N.J. -The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (20-20, 12-3 NEC) dropped an afternoon matchup against the Fordham Rams (11-27, 4-8 A10) 9-4 at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex Wednesday.
How it happened
- The Knights took an early lead in the bottom of the second with a two-run home run by Luke Cantwell, driving in Joan Sosa.
- Fordham responded with a run scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the third.
- An eight-run fourth inning powered the Rams to take the lead over the Knights, making the score 8-2.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Zack Will scored off an RBI single to right field by Brelon Harden.
- Harden added one more run in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center field by George Rosales, but it was not enough to catch up to Fordham. The Knights finished the game with four runs and 12 safe hits.
Inside the box
- Evan Stewart (1-3) took the loss, allowing four runs in the fourth inning.
- Justin Sierra went 3-5 with two stolen bases.
- Harden went 2-4, registering one RBI, one run and one stoles base.
- Tom Ruscitti finished 2-3 with a stolen base.
