ANNAPOLIS, MD. -The Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team (2-4, 0-0 NEC) dropped a 7-0 decision to Navy (10-1, 0-0 Patriot) on Sunday afternoon at the Brigade Sports Complex. 

Graduate student Marta Bettinelli and junior Amina Lasheen fell short to the duo of Meghana Komarraju and Emily Tannenbaum at the No. 1 doubles to start the match. Sylvia Eklund and Kate Lee earned the doubles point for Navy after a 6-0 win over sophomore Gauri Bhagia and senior Aleksandra Vorozheikina. At No. 2 spot, freshman Namie Isago and junior Alena Kubanova won the lone match of the day, 6-4.

In singles play, graduate student Aishwarya Gandotra lost a 1-6, 0-6 contest to Casey Accola at No. 6 before sophomore Gauri Bhagia dropped her match against Emily Tannenbaum in the No. 3 stop. Stella Ribaudo closed out the Navy victory with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Isago at No. 4. The match continued with Bettinelli at No. 5 losing the battle against Komarraju, 3-6. 1-6. At No. 1, Kubanova came up short against Jillian Taggart, 6-4, 6-2. To finish the day, Lasheen lost to Kacey Moore in the No. 2 stop, 6-1, 6-4. 

The Knights get back to action on Friday, March 4 at 4:30 p.m. against Merrimack in Haverhill, MA.
