HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU men's basketball slipped to 6-8 on the season as non-conference play winds down to close-out 2022 as the Knights fell to Queens 82-73 Thursday at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center, the first home loss sustained by the Burgundy and Blue this season.
The three-ball wasn't kind to the Knights in the first half with FDU sinking just 2-of-11 from downtown, though FDU would finish 8-for-25 on the evening (32 percent). Graduate student guard
Demetre Roberts led all scorers in the contest with 21 points, pacing the game with nine made buckets in 15 tries. Despite holding the early advantage, FDU would slip away finding themselves down as many as 15 points.
AJ McKee lit it up on the hardwood in Hackensack, shooting 4-for-7 from distance, including a pair of clutch shots to put the game out of reach. On the flip side, FDU's junior
Sean Moore heated up at the right times with a fadeaway jumper followed by a pair of layups to mount the comeback for the Burgundy and Blue, though the efforts would fall short.
Looking down the stretch, FDU begins Northeast Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. when the Knights welcome Merrimack to Stratis Arena live on NEC Front Row. Tickets are on-sale now at
