HACKENSACK, NJ- FDU women's volleyball (14-13, 8-3) Defeated LIU (11-12, 6-5) in three sets (26-24, 25-23, 25-19) on their senior night in Stratis Arena. The knights honor Graduate students Sophia Spiridonakos, and seniors Allegra Rivas, and Tessa Fisk.
Set 1
- FDU controlled the set until the Sharks got a service ace at 20-20 to pull ahead and change the set. Schmidt tied it with an ace at 23-23 but the Sharks won it 26-24.
- Nott had seven kills and hit .429.
Set 2
- The Knights trailed for most of the set. FDU tied it at 20 with Schmidt at the service line before LIU came out of a timeout to take it 25-23.
- There were eight tie scores with four of them being after 20-20.
Set 3
- The Sharks led 14-11 when they slowly pulled ahead to gain a lead and win the set 25-19.
- Tatijana Fucka had four kills for the Knights and hit .333.
"That loss hurt" head coach David Nguyen said. "We need to regroup and finish our season on a high note."
FDU is on the road one more time before the conference Championships and will travel to SHU to play Friday at 5 p.m. and CCSU for a Saturday 6 p.m, match. Watch all the action live on NEC Front Row.
