Knights to square off with Hartford Hawks in Wednesday non-conference tilt

HARTFORD, Conn. - FDU men's basketball (3-5, 0-0 NEC) continues the team's eight-game stretch away from the friendly confines of the Rothman Center Wednesday when the Knights take-on Hartford (3-6, 0-0 Independent). The action gets underway at Chase Arena in Hartford, Conn. at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 live on Hartford Hawks All-Access.

The Knights ended their run at the JK54 Classic on a high with a late-game four-point win over VMI before beginning a two-game skid with FDU dropping back-to-back games against Pitt and Saint Peter's. Despite the setbacks, senior Heru Bligen shined earning his third-straight Northeast Conference Prime Performer nod.  The six-foot-two Bligen from Glenn Dale, Md. knocked a season-best seven field goals against the Peacocks on Nov. 27 as he finished the two-game reporting period averaging 13 points per game while shooting 66.7 percent in the two contests - including 70 percent shooting against Saint Peter's last week.

Sitting on the other bench for the hump day matchup, Hartford, formerly a member of the America East, comes into Wednesday's game having dropped each of their last three contests. Picking up three early season wins, including a victory against FDU-Florham. The Hawks will face NEC opponents 10 times as they fill-out a Division I independent schedule. Leading Hartford is Briggs McClain, averaging 16.9 points per game.

After the trip to Connecticut FDU heads to Philadelphia for a tilt with Saint Joseph's on Saturday, December 3 at 2 p.m. live on ESPN+.

The 2022-23 men's basketball season is presented by Bogota Savings Bank.
