Women's Basketball Comes Home to Take on UMES on Sunday

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights (4-2, 0-0) women's basketball team comes home to Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center as they host Maryland Eastern Shore (1-5, 0-0) on Sunday, November 27. FDU participated in the Hostilo Community Classic last week in Savannah, Ga. where they defeated UIC and Davidson while losing to Austin Peay. The Knights will be looking to continue their strong start against UMES who has struggled to begin their season. All fans in attendance will receive a free 2022-23 schedule poster of the Knights.

Last Time Out

The Knights took on the Davidson Wildcats where they won 49-43. FDU came out of the gates slow with Davidson taking a quick 9-2 lead at the media timeout. Midway through the first quarter back-to-back threes from Abby Conklin and Ella Fajardo ignited the Knights offense, and they won the quarter 17-8. NEC Player of the Week Chloe Wilson led the scoring with six points. The Wildcats had another strong start to the second quarter, but the dynamic shooting duo of Conklin and Fajardo once again drilled timely threes to keep the Knights lead at five points. In the final minute of the half the Burgundy and Blue drilled two threes including one at the buzzer by Dahomée Forgues. The third quarter saw Davidson start a comeback where they outscored the Knights 13-7 to bring the game within one point. The fourth quarter became a free throw game where the Knights shot 6-of-8 in the quarter to seal the game. The stifling defense of FDU held the Wildcats to 3-of-18 shooting from three-point land and forced 15 turnovers.
