SAVANNAH, GA. – The FDU Knights (2-1, 0-0) women's basketball team is set to participate in the Hostilo Community Classic, which is a mid-season tournament in Savannah, Ga. The games will be played at Enmarket Arena which opened at the beginning of 2022. Enmarket Arena is currently the home venue for the Ghost Pirates of the ECHL. The venue is moving towards hosting a wider variety of events. From Monday to Wednesday the Burgundy and Blue will face off against UIC (3-0, 0-0), Austin Peay (2-1, 0-0), and Davidson (1-2, 0-0). All three games will take place at 11:30 a.m. starting with UIC Monday, Austin Peay Tuesday, and Davidson Wednesday morning, you can follow along and watch the games on BeTheBeast Live+.
The Knights defeated the Bucknell Bisons for the first time in program history and gave the Bisons only their 12
th loss at Sojka Pavilion since 2015. The Burgundy and Blue went on a huge run in the first quarter where they outscored the Bisons 27-5. As a team, they shot 10-18 [55.6%] from three-pointers led by Senior

FDU notably struggled after the first quarter where they saw their 22-point lead dwindle down to eight at one point, but their defense held strong and did not let Bucknell fully back into the game. Despite typically being a defense-first team, the Knights offense shined in today's matchup shooting 47.8% from the field over the four quarters. Junior,
Chloe Wilson led the Knights with 16 points and eight rebounds.
- Preseason All-NEC selection Wilson is coming off a huge game versus Bucknell where she scored 16 points and pitched in eight rebounds.
- Bergenfield, N.J. native Ella Fajardo is leading the Knights with 13.7 points per game.
- Senior Sierra DeAngelo has been racking up rebounds on the season, grabbing six a night while also scoring an efficient 11.5 points a game.
- UIC struggled in 2021-22 winning only two games as they look to change their culture with a new head coach.
- The Flames have started the season 3-0 with wins against IUPUI, Chicago State, and Milwaukee.
- A player to watch for UCI is sophomore Jaida McCloud who is tallying nearly a double-double a night with 12 points and 9.7 rebounds a game.
- Head coach Ashleen Bracey is in her first season at the helm for the Flames. Bracey joins UCI after six seasons as an assistant coach for Missouri.
- Austin Peay had a strong 2021-22 campaign where they won 20 games, including 11 ASUN conference wins.
- The Governors have started the new season with a 2-1 record with wins over Cumberland and Chattanooga.
- Yamia Johnson is a player to watch for Austin Peay. She has had a strong start to her season scoring 18.3 points a contest, including 25 in the season opener.
- Head coach Brittany Young is in her second season at the helm for the Governors. She was only the fourth coach in program history to win 20 or more games in their first season.
- Davidson struggled in A10 play last season posting a 6-10 record.
- The Wildcats have had a tough start to their season with a 1-2 record with losses coming against Duke and #19 Maryland.
- Senior Suzi-Rose Deegan is a player to watch for the Wildcats. She has posted nearly 12 points a night and 6.7 rebounds a game in their first three contests.
- Gayle Fulks enters her sixth season as head coach at Davidson.
