FAIRFIELD, CONN.- FDU women's volleyball (15-15, 9-5) travels to Sacred Heart again this weekend as the #3 seed for the NEC Championship. The Knights will play the #2 seed, Saint Francis U (12-15, 10-4), on Friday, November 18 at 3 p.m. for the semifinal match in William H. Pitt Center.
- FDU has swept the Red Flash in both matches of the season series.
- Sophomore setter Hannah Schmidt played a 5-1 with 18 kills in the Knights' last four matches putting her in an offensive position that the Red Flash has yet to see.
- Graduate student Tatijana Fucka is coming off of a sensational game against CCSU with 13 kills (.581) and a season-high eight blocks.
- Freshmen Kylie Nott has been the offensive leader for the Knights in points, points per set, kills, and kills per set this season. In the first matchup against SFU Nott hit .231 with 10 kills.
- SFU is coming off of a four-set win over the #1 seed SHU bringing their winning streak to six matches with their last loss coming from FDU on October 22.
- Graduate outside hitter, Madi Tyus, is a player to look out for with 314 kills on the season hitting .251. Tyus hit a season-high of 29 kills against Chattanooga back in September.
- Sophomore setter Emma Fenton was named player of the week twice including last week with 49 assists against SHU.
- Maggie Hogan has been a force for the Red Flash averaging over 10 kills throughout the SFU winning streak to end the regular season.
"We are ready to come out and compete this weekend." Head coach David Nguyen said. "The team has been preparing for this moment all season. We are hungry and want to extend this season for as long as possible."
The winners of the semifinal will take on the winner of the 6 p.m. Friday matchup between the #1 SHU, and the #4 LIU in the championship match on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the matches will be $10 for adults, $5 for kids and seniors. Students from NEC school will get in for free with their student ID's. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the door.
All three matches will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 and NEC Front Row.
