LEWISBURG, PA. – The FDU (1-1, 0-0) women's basketball team takes a trip up to Lewisburg, Pa. to take on the Bucknell Bison (0-2, 0-0). The out-of-conference matchup will take place Wednesday, November 16 at Sojka Pavilion. The Knights will be looking for their first team win versus Bucknell in their team history. The Burgundy and Blue are coming off their first win of the season where they defeated Cornell 62-51. The Bisons have started their season 0-2 with losses against Saint Josephs and #13 Virginia Tech.
The Burgundy and Blue defended Stratis Arena last Saturday where they took down the Cornell Big Red. The Knights saw themselves leading after every quarter, including a nine-point halftime lead [37-28] where
Ella Fajardo had 12 points.
Dahomée Forgues led the way for FDU in the third quarter with 10 points which helped extend the Knights lead to 56-40. Both offenses struggled in the fourth quarter but the Knights defense led the way to a 62-51 victory.
- NEC Co-Rookie of the Week, Fajardo looks to continue her strong play where she has averaged 15 points per game off the bench for the Knights.
- Senior Sierra DeAngelo made her season debut last weekend and put together a strong game with 12 points and eight rebounds.
- Canadian guard Forgues had a huge game versus Cornell, putting up 15 points including 10 in the third quarter.
- Bucknell finished last season with a 24-10 record and a 12-6 mark in Patriot League play.
- The Bison have started the season 0-2 with losses to Saint Josephs and #13 Virginia Tech.
- Senior Emma Shafer is a player to watch for the Bison. She is averaging 7.5 points per game while pitching in 6.5 rebounds a contest.
- Head coach Trevor Woodruff is in his fourth season at the helm for the Bison. Woodruff holds a 57-19 career record at Bucknell.
