Leonhard Earns First Points as Knights Pick Up Draw Against Lehigh Tuesday

TEANECK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team (2-3-1, 0-0-0 NEC) battled to a double overtime 1-1 draw against Lehigh (0-4-1, 0-0-0 Patriot) Tuesday night at University Stadium.

How it Happened

  • Rookie Kevin Leonhard scored his first collegiate points with an early goal coming in the 2' to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Senior Diego Arribas picked up his third assist of the season.
  • Lehigh's Josh Luchini evened the tally at 1-1 with a 63' minute score off a pass from the Mountain Hawks' Jack Sarkos.
  • The Knights had a last-second corner kick opportunity as the first half ten-second countdown started, but were unable to get the set piece off.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Knights logged 23 shots in the match, the most of many match this season (10 on goal).
  • Junior goalkeeper Vinícius Cadengue finished the match with three saves.
  • Five Knights (Cadengue, Edoardo Calzola, Ideal Shefqeti, Jordan Alonge and Adrian Barajas) played the full 110 minutes of action.
  • With the assist on Leonhard's score, Arribas moves into sole possession of the top slot on the Knights' points leaderboard, logging five points this season on one goal (9/3 v. Penn) and three assists.
Coach Roland's Thoughts

"We played a very good game, but to win in soccer you must score. I thought we were solid defensively with a few exceptions and dangerous in attack.  Our final pass into the box and our finishing needs to sharpen up for sure - but our energy was outstanding the entire game."
