Scouting the Pirates
Seton Hall has started their 2021 campaign strong, with three straight clean sheet victories, a pair of those coming away from home. The Pirates have toppled Lafayette, NJIT and Delaware by a cumulative score of 4-0. Senior forward Naomi Welch has scored three of the Pirates' four goals, and junior goalkeeper Grace Gordon earned Big East Goalkeeper of the Week honors thanks to her 180 minutes of scoreless netminding and ten saves over Seton Hall's last two matches. The Pirates have won their first three matches of the season for the first time since 2007.

Scouting the Knights
The Knights are coming off a stellar week against two difficult Atlantic-10 opponents. After a 0-0 scoreless draw at Saint Joseph's that saw NEC Rookie of the Week Malene Nielsen keep her first career clean sheet and make eight saves, the Knights followed it up with a 3-2 victory at Fordham. Seniors Alexiane Marquis and Madelyn Robbins found the back of the net in the first half while freshman Helena Lehr netted her first career goal as the vital insurance to secure the victory. Lehr would also log an assist on Robbins's goal, and Gina Steiner would assist on the Lehr goal, marking the first point logged in her FDU career.

Coach Teepe's Thoughts
"After last weekend's results, we will look to continue this week with a tough game vs. Seton Hall. Obviously they are off to a strong start so, while we are slowly beginning to find ourselves, we will have to raise our game to compete in this one, and we will look forward to doing just that."

What's Next
The Knights face one more non-conference opponent on the road, Loyola Maryland on Sunday, September 5, at 6 p.m., before closing out their non-conference schedule with a pair of home games against Stony Brook and Columbia.
