HACKENSACK, N.J. – The fourth annual FDYS Awards concluded the fifth and final day on Friday, June 4 with the announcement of the Walter Marusyn Male Athlete of the Year and the Harriet McCormick Female Athlete of the Year recipients.
Over the five days, there was a total of 15 FDU teams that earned awards, beginning with the Team Knight and MVP Awards. The FDU Athletic Department also handed out 13 major awards in the five days and a highlight video that commemorated the 2020-21 athletics campaign.

The Walter Marusyn Male Athlete of the Year Award is Issued to the most outstanding male athlete of the year. The Harriet McCormick Female Athlete of the Year Award is presented to the most outstanding female athlete of the year.
2021 FDYS Awards Winners
Walter Marusyn Male Athlete of the Year Award: Salif Mane (Men's Track and Field)
This award was Mane's third of these FDYS as he had also previously won the Team MVP Award and the Best Play/Performance of the Year Award after breaking the NEC Championship Meet record in the triple jump. The freshman earned a spot on the All-NEC First Team in the triple jump and qualified for the NCAA Championships Play-In Competition after breaking his own program record three times this season (16.14 meters), earned two gold medals during the season, with them coming at the NEC Championship (16.04 meters) and IC4A Championship (16.14 meters). He also won a bronze medal in the long jump (7.12 meters) at the NEC Championship. Mane also ran in the 4x100 meter relay at the NEC Championship.
Harriet McCormick Female Athlete of the Year Award: Julia Warke (Women's Golf)
Warke helped guide the Knights to the fifth NEC Championship win in the past six seasons, earned a spot on the All-NEC First Team, and the NEC All-Tournament Team after winning the Individual Title at the NEC Championship. Warke was named NEC Player of the Year after winning the NEC Individual Title with a three-round score of 224 (74-71-79). She averaged a team-best 76.8 stroke average during the season. Warke also finished in the top-10 in the Knights Shootout, FDU Invitational, Monmouth Spring Invite, and the NEC Championship to help her play in the NCAA Regionals. The senior graduates with three All-NEC selections.
