HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson Athletic Department presented eight more awards on day four of the fourth annual FDYS Awards on Thursday, June 3.
The five awards that were distributed were the Best Play/Performance, Athletic Director Award, Mary Kay Stratis, Robert Metz, and the Highest Team GPA Award.
The Best Play/Performance is presented to the best play/performance from the 2020-21 year. The Athletic Director Award is awarded to an individual that exemplifies the values of the Knights athletic department. The Mary Kay Stratis Award is Issued to the senior female student-athlete with the highest GPA. The Robert Metz Award is presented to the senior male student-athlete with the highest GPA. The Highest Team GPA Award is awarded to the team with the highest GPA.
2021 FDYS Awards Winners
Best Play/Performance Award: Salif Mane's record-breaking triple jump in the NEC Championship
Mane shattered the NEC record three times during his six jumps and set the new NEC triple jump record on his final attempt with a leap of 16.04 meters to break Amire Solomon of LIU's previous NEC record of 15.59 meters to earn a gold medal and 10 points for the Knights.
Athletic Director Award: Viktorija Miseljic (Women's Soccer)
Miseljic has been an active member of FDU's SAAC Program as the President and one of the leaders for the women's soccer team. She appeared in all eight matches and dished out a pair of assists in the 2021 season.
Mary Kay Stratis Award: Viktorija Miseljic
Miseljic graduates with a 4.00 cumulative GPA.
Robert Metz Award: Moric Budinszky
Budinszky graduates with a 3.98 cumulative GPA.
Highest Male Small Team GPA Award: Men's Tennis (3.66)
Highest Male Large Team GPA Award: Men's Soccer (3.27)
Highest Female Small Team GPA Award: Women's Golf (3.88)
Highest Female Large Team GPA Award: Women's Soccer (3.68)
