NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (9-28, 8-22 NEC) split Friday's doubleheader at Central Connecticut State (24-12, 21-9 NEC) to finish the 2021 season.
FDU defeated CCSU 3-1 in game one while the home side edged out a 14-12 victory in the day's nightcap.
How it Happened - Game 1:

Michael Gruber opened the scoring for the Knights in the top of the first, hitting his first home run of the season
- FDU would hold the Blue Devils scoreless until the sixth inning when the home side plated their lone run of the game off a sacrifice fly to center field
- Off a throwing error that would advance

James Donlon crossed the plate to bring home the Knights second run in the seventh inning
- In the eighth inning,
Tom Ruscitti hit his eighth home run of the season in what would be the final Knights run of the game, sealing the deal on the 3-1 victory

How it Happened - Game 2:
- FDU put up an eight-spot in the second inning to open the scoring affair
- CCSU answered back with a combined eight runs in the third and fourth frames to even the score
- FDU would tack on one run in sixth through ninth innings
