Baseball Wraps Up 2021 Home Schedule

TEANECK, N.J. - FDU (8-26, 7-20) wrapped up the 2021 home schedule on Sunday afternoon against LIU (18-12, 16-10). The Knights were not able to keep the hot-hitting LIU hitters at bay and were defeated 26-6.

The third inning was the deciding inning as LIU scored ten runs in the frame to break the game open. Junior Tom Ruscitti led the way for FDU powering four RBI as he doubled in the left-center gap in the fourth inning and then hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Graduate Student Mike Veit had three hits and freshman Hunter D'Amato had two hits. It was D'Amato's 13th multi-game this season. Graduate student James Donlon concluded his home career in the Burgundy and Blue with two hits and then pitched a scoreless ninth inning; his 40th appearance as a pitcher in his career.

FDU goes on the road for the final games of the 2021 season at Central Connecticut State (22-11, 19-8) on Thursday, May 20 at 3 p.m and a doubleheader on Friday, May 21 beginning at 11 a.m.
