Men's Soccer to Host Bryant on Thursday

The Knights were originally scheduled to host the Bulldogs on March 8.

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team (2-3-1, 2-1-1 NEC) welcomes Bryant (1-1-2, 1-1-2 NEC) to University Stadium on Thursday, April 1, at 5 p.m. The match was previously scheduled to take place on March 8 but was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant (1-1-2) comes to FDU off a 0-0 2OT draw against Mount St. Mary's in NEC play. The Bulldogs went 8-8 in 2019 and were 5-4 in NEC action. The Bulldogs qualified for the NEC Tournament and fell 4-0 to LIU in the conference semifinal. Bryant returns junior forward Ben Williams who was responsible for five of the 22 goals scored by Bulldog forwards last season. In Bryant's season-opening 1-1 draw against LIU, graduate student goalie Jack Bacon registered two saves.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
FDU (2-3-1, 2-1-1 NEC) was selected to finish second in the NEC Preseason Poll after a 2019 season in which the Burgundy and Blue won the NEC Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA tournament. The Knights opened the 2020-21 season with back-to-back 2-0 losses on the road against Fordham and Seton Hall before opening NEC play with a 1-0 road win at Sacred Heart on March 1. Freshman Hugo Bacharach scored in the 89' for the Knights, giving them their first goal and victory of the campaign. The Knights' second conference match of the season at home against Bryant on March 8 was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. FDU defeated LIU in 2OT on March 15, 3-2, as freshman Jeremy Opong scored the game-winner in the 95. The Burgundy and Blue fell to CCSU 3-0 on March 22 before battling to a 2OT 0-0 draw against Merrimack on Monday, March 29, at University Stadium.
