Scouting the Knights
FDU (2-2-0, 2-0-0 NEC) was selected to finish second in the NEC Preseason Poll after a 2019 season in which the Burgundy and Blue won the NEC Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA tournament. The Knights opened the 2020-21 season with back-to-back 2-0 losses on the road against Fordham and Seton Hall before opening NEC play with a 1-0 road win at Sacred Heart on March 1. Freshman Hugo Bacharach scored in the 89' for the Knights, giving them their first goal and victory of the campaign. The Knights' second conference match of the season at home against Bryant on March 8 was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. The Burgundy and Blue head to CSSU coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory at LIU on March 15 which saw reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Jeremy Opong score the game-winning goal in the 95', giving the Knights a 2-0 start in NEC play this season.

Coach Roland's Thoughts
"We have a tough assignment against a confident, youthful and high-energy CCSU team that is flying high after becoming the first NEC team ever to beat Merrimack. Starting the season with our fourth away game in a row is a big mountain for us to climb, but we are looking forward to the challenge."

What's Next
The Burgundy and Blue welcome Merrimack to University Stadium in Teaneck for their first home fixture of the season on Monday, March 29, at 5 p.m. live on NEC Front Row.
