CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team (2-2-0, 2-0-0 NEC) defeated LIU 3-2 in extra time on Monday, marking the second consecutive victory for the Knights.

Coming out of halftime neither side was able to get on the board for the first twenty-two minutes of action until the Sharks struck again in the 67' when Emil Jaaskelainen scored on Jonas Dovland's assist.Â
The Knights cut the deficit in half with a goal in the 81' by

Knights Head Coach
Seth Roland said, "Well, I've been coaching for a few years at the college level and I don't think I've ever experienced a win like that one. The guys showed tremendous heart and commitment fighting back from a 2-0 deficit with 10 minutes to go."
Roland continued, "To tie the game with a minute to go, playing a man down, and then win the game five minutes into overtime was both exciting and inspiring. We don't care who scores for us, but I think it's pretty cool that two of our three goals came from freshmen and two other freshmen notched assists today. It was a proud performance by the entire program."

The Knights are scheduled to return to action on March 22 when they go on the road to take on Central Connecticut State.
